Mary “Betty†Takores, 91, of North Haven and Boynton Beach, FL. Passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Meriden Center. Wife of the late Anthony J. Takores. Born in Ansonia on February 27, 1921; daughter of the late Edward and Esther Gaffney Platz. Betty had worked as an inspector for Tolles Manufacturing. She was a member of the Lady Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church. Mother of Winifred (Tom) Kashur, Nancy (Rob) Asselin and Debra O’Loughlin who was her devoted caregiver. Grandmother of Scott, Jason, Matthew, Nicole and Brandon. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband Edward O’Loughlin. The family would like to thank the staff of 200 Wing, especially Savannah, Sharon and Judy for the special care shown to their mother.
Her Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm. So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Betty. She and Uncle John visited us several times in Florida. Uncle John was my Father’s brother. We live in Tavares, Fl. She shall be remembered in our prayers.

Please accept Nancy’s and my sympathies for the loss of your mom. I will always retain the memories of our childhood visits to see Betty and your dad then, in later years, with John. I will pass the word to my dad, your Uncle Al, who turned 93 in October and now lives in Houston.
