Paul Eligio, 87, of East Haven, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Masonic Health Care Center, Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Hilda Borsoi Eligio. Paul was born in New Haven on December 18, 1925; son of the late Donato and Louise Gambardella Eligio; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with three stars and the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon. Paul had worked as Body Shop Manager for the former Brown & Thomas Cadillac – Oldsmobile in New Haven and later for the former Voloshin Cadillac of Woodbridge. Father of Paulette (David) Carrano, Michele (Rich Simons) Eligio all of North Branford, Paul (Susan) Eligio of East Haven. Grandfather of Tara Carrano, Shauna (Peter) DeStefano, Mark Anthony (Christina) Eligio, Joshua (Kristin) Eligio, Justin Eligio and Nicholas Simons. Great-Grandfather of Nathan, Dylan, Alyssa, Katelyn and Jase. Predeceased by a brother Anthony Eligio.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
