Rosemary Ann Bosco Panico, 83, formerly of Hamden and Naples, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center, North Haven with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Joseph A. Panico.  Rosemary was born in New Haven on November 8, 1932; daughter of the late James V. Bosco, Sr. and Raffaela “Ray” DeRosa Bosco.  Rosemary obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Albertus Magnus College and her Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University; taught Spanish and Italian at Hillhouse High School, Michael J. Whalen, Jr. High, Sleeping Giant Jr. High both in Hamden and Hamden High School.  She was a member of the CEA, Connecticut Educational Association, Past President of the Marian Guild of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden, Secretary of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale, belonged to Circolo Italiano in Naples, Florida, taught Italian to adults going to Italy to visit and was a passionate reader and loved her winters in Naples, FL. Mother of Mark (Patricia) Panico, David (Barbara) Panico, Brad (Megan) Panico and Lisa (Stephen) Whalen.  Grandmother of Michael, John, Elizabeth, Natalie, Bryan (Gabriella), Benjamin and Isabella Panico, Carly, Olivia and Jack Whalen.  Sister of Dr. James (Barbara) Bosco, Eileen (Farooq) Khan and the late Gena Tannoia.  The family would like to thank the Staff at Montowese Health and Rehab Center for all the wonderful care and love she had received there over the past 4.5 years.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 10:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden at 11:00.
