Dominic A. Savino, 82, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jennie Milano Savino. Dominic was born in New Haven on September 7, 1930; son of the late Stephen and Philomena Panico Savino; had worked for Brockway-Smith for thirty years until his retirement; was a former member of the Elks Lodge and Knights of Columbus; enjoyed woodworking, watching UCONN Women’s Basketball and was an avid New York Giants fan. Father of John (Patty) Ceneri of East Haven, Doreen (Peter) Zaino of North Haven and Dianne (Mike) Ceneri of East Haven. Grandfather of Marisa Ceneri, JoAnna (Mark) Nunzianto, Aubrey Moore, Peter Zaino, Thomas Moore and Christina Zaino. Great-Grandfather of Marco Nunzianto. Predeceased by sisters, Mary, Millie, Josephine and a brother Frank.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 11:30. Family and friends may call from 10:00 am until leaving at 11:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
