William P Mulligan, 89, of New Haven entered into rest on February 14, 2013. Bill was born in New Haven on May 24, 1923 to William P and Mary Mulligan. He was a proud Army veteran having served in the European Theater during World War II, a retiree of Yale University and lifelong communicant of St. Francis Church in Fair Haven. Bill is survived by sisters Anna Mulligan of New Haven and Mary Burland of North Haven; he was predeceased by Brother Thomas Mulligan. He is also survived by sister-in-law Loraine Mulligan, nephews and nieces William and Lisa Burland of Quakertown PA, Thomas and Helen Burland of Madison CT, Brian and Johanna Burland of Woodbridge CT. Great nieces and nephews; Kelly Burland Goldenberg, Katie Burland Poremba, Thomas Burland Jr, Catherine Burland, John Burland, Elizabeth Burland, Helen Burland, Patrick Burland, Christina Burland and predeceased by great nephew William (Billy) Burland.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:15. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church, Ferry Street, New Haven at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
