Robert W. Turbert, 87, of Northford, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the CT. Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Shirley Lates Turbert for 63 years. Born in New Haven on December 27, 1925; son of the late Edward J. Turbert II and Emily C. Turbert. Robert was a Financial Analyst for Colt Industries, enjoyed golfing, was a Boston Red Sox & New York Giants fan, a tournament horseshoe player, enjoyed vacations with his family and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Father of Douglas R. (Patricia) Turbert of Guilford and Jeffrey E. (Donna) Turbert of Branford. Grandfather of Daniel ( Laura) Turbert and Christopher & William Turbert. Great-grandfather of Gracie Turbert. Brother of Irene Burke of Milford, Eleanor Bonin of West Haven and the late Helen Johns & Edward Turbert III. Brother-in-law of Alice Turbert.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. Funeral Services will be conducted in St. John’s Episcopal Church at 10:00. Interment will take place at a later date in Northford Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
