Stefano Ciaramella, 78, of Hamden passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale-New Haven Hospital with his wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Rosina “Rose” DeMatteo Ciaramella who loved him unconditionally and will miss him dearly. Stefano was born in Caiazzo, Provence of Caserta, Italy on March 17, 1937; son of the late Antonio and Luigia Pannone Ciaramella; had worked for the Park and Recreation Department for the Town of Hamden for many years and was a member of the Bocce club at the Hamden Italian-American Club.  Stefano enjoyed making his wine and competing with his brother’s wine.  A handy craftsman, many of his family and friends homes has something he made in them. A loving husband, uncle and friend, he will truly be missed.  Brother of Christine (Ernest) Cimino, Giuseppe (Angelina) Ciaramella, Teresa Squelia and the late Domenic and Amedeo Ciaramella.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Saturday morning at 8:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9:00 am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
