Charles Cargan, 71 years old died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at his home after an eighteen month battle with cancer. Charles was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his grandchildren Cameron, Max, and Delaney, who he adored. He never missed a chance to watch his grandchildren’s
games. He was a proud retired member of the Hamden Fire Department where he served for 33 years. He was also a member of the 225th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War era. Charles was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox, and New York Giants and rarely missed watching a game. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie, sons Chris, Keith, and Reid, two daughters-in-laws, Reilly and Stephanie, his three grandchildren, and his sister Linda Kocsinski. He was predeceased by his mother Florice Cargan and a sister Judy Roy. He will be greatly missed but the memory of him will live on through his friends and family who are grateful to have known him.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors and “Celebration of his Life†will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday evening at 7:00 with the Rev. David Piscitelli officiating. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4:00 pm until time of service. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
