Virginia H. Hansell Niederschmidt, 67, of Meriden, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at her home. She was the beloved wife of eighteen years to Warren L. Niederschmidt. Virginia was born in New Haven on January 10, 1946; daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Meyers Hansell; had worked for SNET Company and later as a Nurses Aide for the Institute for the Blind. Her greatest love was her six grandchildren whom she truly enjoyed. Mother of Kimberlee (John) Russo of Wallingford and Nikki Monge Arriaza of Meriden. Grandmother of Erik Russo, Elijah Lebron, Alexander Medina, Isabel and Hudson Powell, and Arielle Arriaza. Sister of Roger (Annette) Hansell of Oxford and the late Bruce Hansell. Predeceased by her husbands Alexander “Babe” Nuzzo, Jr. and Ronald Monge.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday morning at 10:00 in North Haven Congregational Church. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
