Maria A. Cusano Coppola, 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of 58 years to Guido Coppola. Maria was born in Ruviano, Italy on February 6, 1933; daughter of the late Antonio and Nicoletta Melillo Cusano; had worked as a cook for Woolworth’s in Trumbull for many years; enjoyed cooking, canning and taking care of her family. Mother of Salvatore (Maureen) Coppola of North Haven, Anthony (Cheryl) Coppola of Glastonbury. Grandmother of Maria (Jon) O’Brien, Gina (Steve) Cohen, Laura (Scott) DeRose, Michael (Amanda) Coppola, T.J., Lindsey and Carly Coppola. Great-Grandmother of Ryan, Bella, Madison and Abby. Sister of Rosalina Coppola of North Haven, Silvia (Pasquale) Coppola, Antonetta (Giulio) Savo all of Shelton, Angelina (Carlo) Coppola of North Haven and the late Pasquale and Vincenzo Cusano. Sister – in –law of Maria Cusano of Deltona, FL and Erminia Cusano of Southington. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Monday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 pm.
