Marsha M. DeCicco-Redding, 67, a resident of West Haven for many years until moving to Wallingford in 2010, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. Marsha was the daughter of the late Eugene and Antoinette Vitale DeCicco, and was predeceased by her husband Roy “Butch” Redding. Marsha was a waitress for many years, and served many diner patrons with her upbeat and warm personality at the Elm and Duchess diners of West Haven, and the Athenian of Amity. She recently retired after 24 years with Walgreens Pharmacy, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was loved by all of her fellow Walgreens family, and mothered many of her younger co-workers. She will be especially missed by her manager and close friend “Hymie” Glick. Marsha was loved by all of her nieces and nephews, who were by her side through the toughest times, as well as many grand nieces and nephews. “Auntie Marsh” will be remembered for continuing the traditions of her late mother by baking Italian Christmas cookies, and Easter pies for her family. She was an avid Yankees fan, and loved watching her sons perform in local bands over the years. She was the beloved mother of Steven Belli (Linda) of Wallingford and Robert Belli of East Haven. Devoted “nonni” of Steven Pasquale, Gabriella Cristina, Robert Angelo, and Michael Anthony Belli. She is loved and remembered by her brothers Eugene DeCicco (Rose), James DeCicco, and sister Deborah DeCicco, her dear sister-in-law Theresa “Terri-Lou” Anastasio-DeCicco, all her cousins and her aunts. Marsha was also predeceased by her first husband Robert Nicholas Belli. Her sons would like to express thanks and acknowledge the incredible compassionate care delivered by her team of doctors at the Smilow Center in Hamden. Dr. Jeremy Kortmansky, and Dr. Christina Knowlton truly exemplified care delivered from the heart. Her pulmonologist Dr. Madhu Gowda was also part of her exceptional care team. Thanks to the team of nurses and staff at St. Raphael’s Hospital, Verdi 4 West, Jill, Jen, Meghan, Allison, Richard, and Yvette for your warmth and compassion.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 10:00. A Blessing will be given in The Most Holy Trinity Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marsha Redding Grandchildren’s Education Fund, 93 Fair St., Wallingford, CT 06492
