It was a long and very valeant struggle for Louis for these past 10 years. It was an honor and a privilege to have been able to care for Lou and be involved with his family.
He spoke often and selflessly about his desire to keep himself available to others. The fortitude and unwavering grit he exhibited through some of the very tough times of his illness was both truly amazing and encouraged all who cared for him. Every member of his healthcare team became a better person for having been involved with this wonderful man.
To Kathy, Carly, Doug and the entire Caliendo family I extend my heartfelt condolences. Donna and I will be unable to attend the services this week , but you will all be in my thoughts and my prayers to help relieve for you the sorrow which envelops this time.

So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed reading the biography that you have shared- it is beautifully written, and it reveals a person who loved his family and was loved in return.
To the Caliendo family. So very sorry for your loss. Lou was a very special man. I worked with his sister Maria, in UHC Hamden office. Lou helped us out,in our home, installing a new bathroom and with other plumbing problems, through the years. Saw him last in Oct. 2014 and he was so kind to us. My late husband held him in high regard as did I. He will be missed. Keeping him and all of you in my prayers.
My condolences to the Caliendo family. I had fun with Lou in the Knights Golf League
