Julian M. Mitchell, 88, of North Haven passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the St. Raphael’s Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. Husband of Grace Migliaro Mitchell. Born in Avon, Illinois on November 9, 1924; son of the late Julian M. and Marguerite Fitzsimons Mitchell. Julian served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during WWII and had worked for Uniroyal as a Research Chemist. Brother of William Mitchell, John Mitchell, Eloise Fransen, Theresa Taylor all of Galesburg, IL, Carol Ritter of Morton, IL, Kathleen Searles of California and the late Robert Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Joyce Mitchell. Brother-in-law of Phyllis Mitchell, Caroline Mitchell, Janet Mitchell all of Galesburg, IL, Lois Mitchell of CO, Kenneth Fransen of Galesburg, IL, Anthony Migliaro, Joanne Migliaro both of FL, Albert Colaninno, Mary Grieco, Jennie Magel, Catherine Colaninno, Annette Migliaro all of CT, and the late Clyde Taylor, Rose Cassella, Madeline Christoforo, Antoinette Migliaro, Christie Migliaro and Andrew Migliaro. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church 10:00 am. Interment with full military honors will follow in the All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8.
