Boyd L. Johnson, 70, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on Friday, April 12, 2013. He was the husband of forty-eight years to Nancy Mulligan Johnson. Mr. Johnson was born in New Haven on May 27, 1942; son of the late Helge and Ella Jacobson Johnson; worked as an electrician for many years with I.B.E.W. Local #90 and was a dedicated family man, truly enjoying his six grandchildren. Father of Kathleen Johnson of Wolcott, Boyd (Denise) Johnson of Clinton and Jennifer (Steven) Sullivan of Wolcott. Grandfather of Garrett, Abigail, Zachary, Amanda, Julia and Ava. Brother of Tord (Judith) Johnson of Branford and Clare (Christian) Couture of North Haven.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to the Bethesda Lutheran Church, 305 St. Ronan Street, New Haven at 10:00 Tuesday morning to attend a funeral service and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, CT Chapter, Unit D-4, 4 Oxford Road, Milford, CT 06460.

I am so sorry to hear about Boyd. I remember him fondly as I was growing up. He was a tremendous help at Vasa Park.
