Margaret Mae (Williams) Wells, 93, of North Haven, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Guilford. She was the wife of the late John Wells, Sr. Margaret was born in New Haven to the late Clifford and Mae Williams on June 14, 1919. She attended Hillhouse High School. Margaret married John J. Wells, Sr., on December 29, 1942 and was married to John until his death in 1978. Margaret worked as a Directory Assistant for Southern New England Telephone Company for more than 30 years. She was an active member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and a dedicated volunteer at the North Haven Senior Center for more than 20 years. Mother of John Jr., William, Michael, James, Richard, Peter, Doreen (Olenkiewicz), Kathleen (McCarthy) and Arleen (Magda). Sister of Doris Civitello of Hamden. Margaret took great pride in her 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren as well as her dear friends; Lucy Bodie and Ann DellaValle. Predeceased by her son Robert, her grandchild; Brady and great grandson Devon Kobuta.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. The visiting hours will be Wednesday (TODAY) from 5-7 pm.
