Josephine Ardigliano Alfveby, 86, of Durham, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown. She was the wife of the late Howard E. Alfveby; Josephine was born in New Haven to the late Pasquale and Raffaela LaFaccia Ardigliano on December 25, 1926. She was an assembler for Turbine Components for many years until her retirement and enjoyed playing bingo, drawing and sewing. Mother of Edward (Gina) Alfveby of North Branford and Cheryl Rosa of New Haven. Grandmother of Cassandra and Gabriella Alfveby. Sister of Rose “Rosie†Knapp, Jennie Martone, Anna Randi, Patricia “Patty†Chaput and the late Catella “ Kay†Gaudioso, Theresa Rubertone, Mary Steele and Vincent “Jimmy†Ardigliano. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Augustine Church, Caputo Road, North Branford, for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 10:00. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT. 06067. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, has been entrusted with her arrangements.
I’m sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Josie. I used to see her often at the grandparents house when I was young. I’ll always remember her as being outgoing and the life of the party.
