Kilburn “Kib” Dean, 84, of Hamden, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital.  He was the husband of 57 years to Beverly Frantz Dean.  Kib was born in West Haven on January 19, 1929; son of the late Frank K. and Jessie Westbrook Dean;  served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne during WW II and had worked as a Photo Engraver for Graphic Color Plate for 27 years until his retirement.  Kib was a member of The American Legion Post 83 of Branford; the 40/8 Voiture #328; enjoyed fishing, watching horror movies and his most favorite movie was A Christmas Carol because Kib truly loved Christmas Eve.  He also helped making Veterans Poppies with the American Legion Auxillary.  Father of Nancy Dean Hanley and her husband William Hanley, and the late Adam Peter Dean.  Grandfather of Alison Dean Hanley and Kelly Elizabeth Hanley.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by sisters, Shirley Dean Mason Yurczyk and Phyllis Dean Spinnato, and a brother David Rapuano.

Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Sunday evening at 5:00. Family and friends may call from 3:00 pm until time of services.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Beaverdale Memorial Park.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
