Joseph P. O’Reilly, Sr., 73, of Rocky Hill, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Joseph was born in New Haven on March 22, 1940; son of the late Peter and Mary Ferguson O’Reilly; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and had worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Father of Joseph P.and Lisa O’Reilly both of Naples, FL, Brian O’Reilly of Hebron and David O’Reilly of East Haven. Grandfather of Brendan and Ian O’Reilly. Brother of Ann (John) Kucenski of Northford. Uncle of Christopher (Ellen) Kucenski of Southington.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church, Northford at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Church, 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford, CT 06472 o the Veterans Home & Hospital, 287 West St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
