Ronald R. Macy, 73, of Clifford Street, Hamden formerly of Van Horn Drive, East Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the CT Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of fifty-one years to Dolores Krebs Macy. Ronald was born in West Springfield, MA on October 21, 1939; son of the late Albert L. and Blanche G. Vincent Macy; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corp; had worked for U.S. Motors, Premier Fabrics and later for Nankins, Inc. until his retirement. Ron was a lover of the outdoors enjoying fishing, gardening and bird watching; was an avid sports fan and enjoyed taking the family on vacation. Father of Janet Lorraine (John) Dottori of East Haven and Linda Ann (David P. Velardi) Macy of North Haven. Grandfather of Nicole and Thomas Frizell, Jr., Amanda and Christina Roberts, Kyle Frizell, Zachary Keller and Gianna Appi. Great-Grandfather of Natalie Criscuolo. Brother of Gloria Martino of North Branford and the late Albert L. Macy, Jr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandfather Edward Vincent and his nephews Robert Sundwall, Kevin Clifford, Barry and Thomas Moore and David Ripley.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.

You truly are a remarkable person. You raised a great family and I was honored to have you in my life. I usually can write endlessly but you know how I admired you for what you stood for as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great grandfather and friend to so many people. You will forever be in my memoery and your legacy will live on through your family.

Mr. Macy, I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I do know Linda & David. They are just an incredible couple.
