Lawrence J. Lynch, Jr., 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 14, 2016 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Romans Lynch. Lawrence was born in New Haven on September 12, 1935; son of the late Lawrence J. Lynch, Sr. and Hazel Duffy Lynch; was a 1953 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School; he obtained an Associate and a Bachelor Degree from the former Quinnipiac College; served in the US Army Reserves; had worked as an Insurance Adjuster for Equifax and later as a Mail Handler for the US Postal service for 21 years until his retirement in 2003; was an avid UCONN Huskies Girls & Boys basketball and New York Giants fan. Father of Lawrence K. Lynch (Denise), Michael W. Lynch (Kim), Joseph B. Lynch (Debra), Patrick J. Lynch (Dawn), Stephen D. Lynch (Laura) and Patricia M. Knapp (John). Papa, T-Pa and Grandpa to twelve grandchildren.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 11:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 12 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm.
