Joan Hegewald Cavallaro, 76, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden. Wife of the late Ralph Cavallaro. Born in New Haven on January 14, 1938; daughter of the late Martin and Eileen Riley Hegewald. Mother of Cynthia (Ronald) Verdi, Laura (Glenn) Stetzer, Kevin (Lise) Cavallaro and Vincent Cavallaro. Grandmother of Jessica and Ryan Verdi, Jennifer Nevins, Christine Green, Gina and Nicholas Cavallaro, Michael and Michelle Cavallaro. Sister of Lois DeCrosta, Frank Hegewald and Michael LeMoine.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning March 11th at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Whitney Manor Nursing Home, 2798 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
