Barbara Ann Esposito Rourke, 79, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to John B. Rourke. Barbara was born in New Haven on September 8, 1936; daughter of the late Michael and Carmel Sirico Esposito and had worked as a bank teller at the former Dime Savings Bank. Mother of Ellen (Paul) Dufour, John W. Rourke and Michael T. Rourke. Grandmother of Derek & Lauren Dufour, Caitlin (Anthony) Esposito and Devon Rourke. Sister of Charles (Barbara) Esposito. Predeceased by her daugther-in-law Carol Sabat Rourke. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the doctors, nurses and the entire staff on Verdi 3 North M.I.C.U. at St. Raphael’s Campus for the excellent comfort and care they provided to Barbara.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm.
