Mary C. Ruggiero Shia, 97, of Getzville, NY formerly of Spring Road, North Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2016 at the Weinberg Campus, Getzville, NY. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick G. Ghia. Mary was born in North Haven on April 16, 1919; daughter of the late Carmine and Emelia Bolzano Ruggiero and had worked for Pratt &Whitney. Mother of George Shia and is wife Lyubov Shia. Grandmother of Jacob Shia.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Therese Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
Our condolences to you on the loss of a very sweet lady. She shared her recipes, her craft ideas for scouts, her memories, and she always welcomed us for a visit with our three young children. We are glad our grandchildren had the opportunity to meet her.
