William Ward Sellner, 70, of North Haven passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Carol Riccio Sellner. William was born in New Haven on February 20, 1946; son of the late William and Elizabeth Ward Sellner; had worked as a plumber all of his life until his retirement; was a mustang car enthusiast and enjoyed watching drag racing. Father of William (Serena) Buffum, April (Eric Schuell) Sellner, William, Sean and Aaron Sellner and Steven Michael Ward Sellner. Brother of Judy (Lowell) Smith, Kevin Sellner and the late Betsy Sellner. Also survived by many grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Friday evening at 8:00. Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Haven, Inc., 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.

I didn’t know him, but l did know his sister, Betsy. I hung around with her in North Haven Jr. High school. I know she left school during that time, so it was a short friendship. I remember when Betsy arrived at school. We clicked right away. I’ve thought of her over the years, l still do. I learned year’s ago, about what happened to her in Boston. Many year’s later, l met her Mom at the German club in West Haven. I never knew she was my friends Mother, until l read about her Mom’s passing in the New Haven Register. I wish l knew , to offer my condolences.May they all ” Rest with the Angels”.. God bless them.
