Mary A. Chipokas Jarvie, 94, of West Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Apple Rehab, West Haven. She was the wife of the late John Jarvie and the late John J. Lougal. Born in Sanbornville, New Hampshire on April 16, 1919; she had worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael for many years until her retirement. Mary loved gardening especially flowers and lavender was her favorite color. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, crocheting, cooking for her family especially on Sundays and lasagna was her signature dish. Mary loved being with “Heidi” and all her other furry grandchildren. She was loved by her family and friends, and will truly be missed. Mother of Fred (Roberta) Lougal, John (Patty) Lougal and the late Peter Lougal. Step-mother of Maryjane and Susan. Grandmother of Natasha Lougal. Step-grandmother of Ernie DeCosta, Amy Foster and Melanie Frodel. Step-Great grandmother of Anthony & Dominic DeCosta and Nicole Foster. Sister of Julia Coulston and the late Lucy Chestnut, Joseph and Peter Chipokas.
