My first supervisor at the police dept. in 1973 and lifelong friend. A good and kind man to all. R.I.P. Lt. Ed
I remember Ed as a thoughtful and very hard-working man. He wrote the Federal Grant that secured employment for the original Cadet program where Bill Klein, Bob Czaja and the late Gary Moleski and myself were hired with North Haven in late 1971. Ed was a very good mentor as neither of us had any Police experience when we were hired at eighteen years old.
Working together through many years with People in the Department one gets to know a person and their families as well. Ed was never satisfied with only working eight hours a day. He would encourage us to work additional hours doing road jobs when we became regular officers during the time when new sewer construction in the south area of town was being done. Ed worked several side jobs such as a school bus driver for Nutile bus, chauffer for Herb Pearce and Ted McDowell, vehicle escorts for F.P. Ryan though L.G. Defelice escorting large construction vehicles in the New England area as well as haying for his family properties on Arrowdale Road. He way a great man and will be missed, my condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren.
I graduated in 1965 from NHHS. In those days you could just walk up and chat away. Teenager to policeman. From my memories Eddie was always friendly polite and an all around good guy !!! I so wish we could live in a society like that again. Thank you Eddie for many good memories ! 33 years to North haven citizens good man RIP sir RIP
Great man in my book. Helped me in so many ways as a kid. Saw him about 4 years ago at his house. Big hug and talked a bit. I was lucky to know Ed. My condolences to his family.
Hi Jackie No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. But take comfort in knowing that your dad is now resting in the arms of our Lord.My deepest condolences to you and your family may god comfort you in your loss.
– David,We all have searched to find the right words to say to you at this time. You know the right cooatnbiimn of words that will sound good and that will bring you great comfort during this time of loss. But you know full well that we can only speak from our hearts. Sometimes the words may not be as well articulated, but you know it's real and knowing you as I do, you will consider that of more value than any words we could trump together. Growing up, I used to think that when people spoke about life after death, it was just a way for them to deal with things they didn't understand. It wasn't true, it was just a coping mechanism. Then I came to know the Lord and realized it's not just something we tell ourselves. It's the living, breathing truth. There is more to it than just this three score and ten. Your grandmother is not sick anymore. She's not suffering anymore. She's whole now. Your grandmother is now experiencing the wonder of eternity with the Lord Jesus. She possesses the hope that we long for. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. May the Lord be your strength during this time. And trust that we are here for you my brother. Straight up. You don't even have to wonder about that.
