Lorraine Maturo Manente, 80, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. Raphael Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Manente Sr. Lorraine was born in New Haven on June 19, 1933, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Susan Cioffi Maturo. Lorraine was a devoted parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and was a member of the church council and the 55 Social Club. She was a fan of the New York Yankees and UConn basketball, enjoyed playing canasta, and “going fishing” to Atlantic City. She leaves Karen & Frank Fragola of Wallingford, Thomas & Laura Manente Jr. of Southington, Stephen Manente of Hamden, David & Pattie Manente of Branford and grandchildren Tori, Lexi, Katie, Claire, Jake, and Brenan.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
