Jennie DePonte Carbone, 84, of East Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Carbone. Jennie was born in New Haven on September 20, 1930; daughter of the late Antonio and Frances D’Amato DePonte.  She enjoyed knitting, was a member of the Societa Santa Maria Maddalena Ladies Auxiliary and St. Therese Church Ladies Guild.  Mother of Sandra DePoto (Ronald), Patricia Capone (Salvatore), Frances Melendez (Rafael) and Anthony Carbone (Cynthia).  Grandmother of Ronald A. DePoto, Stephanie Mattei (Edward), Tina Piscitelli (Michael), Jennifer D’Errico (Nicholas), Jason Melendez (Stephanie Sandella), Anthony Carbone (Jessica Rose), Stephen, Michael and Christina Carbone.  Sister of Anna Carbone, Fred DePonte and the late Frank DePonte, Josephine Anastasio, Concetta Showl and Raffelina Suraci.  Also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church, North Haven at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.  Should friends’ desire, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc. 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
