David Lindsay Chapman, 94, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2015 at Regency House of Wallingford.  He was the husband of the late Edna Roncaioli Chapman.  David was born in New Haven on October 1, 1920; son of the late Joseph and Lucy Shepherd Chapman.  He served his country faithfully in the US Army Air Force during WWII & the Korean War and was also a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society.  David worked for the former Knudsen Brothers Dairy for 33 years and later for the Town of North Haven until his retirement.  David was an avid barbershopper and a former Director of the Conn Yankee Chorus, Meriden Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 33 years.  He was a member of the American Legion Murray Reynolds Post # 76 of North Haven and the Mayflower Society.  He sang in the choir of the North Haven Congregational Church for many years.  David also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and bowling.  Father of Eileen Chapman (Janice Boyce), Linda (Joseph) Serfillippi, Elizabeth (Christopher) Angelone, Wendy (John) Burton and the late David G. Chapman.  Grandfather of Vincent (Misha) Serfillippi, Michael (Michelle) Serfillippi, David G. Chapman, Jr., Lisa Bernardo, Nicholas Bernardo, Jr. and 3 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by his brothers J. Parker, E. Tracy, Douglas, Malcolm, and Linsley Chapman.

Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Congregational Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00.  Family and friends may call at the church from 12:30 pm until time of service.  Interment with full military honors will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Gifts Fund, North Haven Congregational Church, 28 Church Street, North Haven, CT  06473.  The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
