Alfred died peacefully at home with his family after a long illness.  Alfred was born on January 1, 1937 in Radziochy, Poland, as the son of Heinrich and Wanda Reinholtz.  As a young child, he survived World War II.  The family found his father, who served in the German army, in England.  He was captured as a Prisoner of War by the English.  After release from a camp, and living two years in Wales, Alfred (age 14) and his family journeyed by ship, the Queen Elizabeth, to America.  When they arrived in America, they settled in Middletown Connecticut, where they were sponsored by the Schmidt’s. Alfred was a member of the Harugari German-American Club in West Haven, CT.  as well as the Knights of Columbus.  During a group dance at the Harugari, he met Elvira Adler and they married on October 2, 1965 in New Haven, CT.  The two recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Alfred and Elvira and their young family initially lived in Portland, CT but moved to North Haven CT. where he resided for more than 40 years.  Alfred and Elvira had three sons Edward (of No.H.), Gerald (of Oxford CT) and Erich (also of No.H.). Alfred worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in E. Hartford, Colt Mfg. in Hartford, and Deitsch Plastics in West Haven CT. for over 40+ years, where he managed over 90 people.  He was well like and respected among his peers as one of the top color matchers… which is a most unique skill. Alfred enjoyed fishing with his best friend of 45 years, who was also his brother-in-law, Juri Koslov (predeceased).  Alfred spent much time helping his sons’ with their home/building projects and would always lend a helping hand to any of his friends/family whenever they called.  He always carried his tools in his car so he was always ready to go, as long as he had a hot Dunkin Donuts coffee in his hand!  He loved to dance the Polka & Waltz, he loved Spanish and German Music as well as Rolf’s accordion playing and he most enjoyed traveling, nature and his mothers’ Polish cooking. Al is survived by his wife, Elvira (Adler), his sons’ Edward, Gerald (wife Maureen) and Erich (wife Jasmin).  Al is also survived by his sister Edna Robinson, and brothers Helmut (wife Pamela) and George (wife Kathy) and has been predeceased by his oldest sister Johanna Bruno.  He is also survived by his grandchildren; Raeven, Erich Jr., and Oksana.  He is survived by his brother-in-law, Bill Adler, and his sister-in-law, Erika Koslov.  Alfred leaves behind his nieces and nephews Nancy & Nick; Lynn & Bill; Kacey; Larica, Erika and Karen and many other great nieces and nephews whom he treasured very much!
