Agnes Bianchi Mangini of Wallingford, passed away at MidState Medical Center, Meriden on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family just days before her 102nd birthday. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Albert J. Mangini. Agnes was born in Southington on April 21, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Emilio and Rose Trotta DiGiandomenico Bianchi. Agnes’ greatest moments were when she was preparing great Italian meals for her family. Family meant everything to her, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting. She spent many hours creating beautiful afghans for her entire family. She once crocheted 40 baby afghans for the Yale NICU. She thought all babies needed brightness to make them content. Agnes is survived by her son Albert J. Mangini of Sunnyvale, CA, and her dedicated and devoted daughter Rosanne (Michael) DeFeo with whom she resided for 38 years in Wallingford. Loving grandmother of April Haren, Albert J. Mangini Jr. of CA, Michael (Holly) DeFeo, and Paul DeFeo. Beloved great-grandmother of Ronald, Amy, Lindsay, Jeffrey Haren, Alyssa, Devin, and Dylan DeFeo. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she loved very much. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Antonio (Alice) Trotta, Julius (Irvina) Trotta, Emilio (Fran) Bianchi, Domenic (Marion) Bianchi, Frankie Bianchi, Alice (David) Abraham, Bernadette Bianchi, and Florence (Francis) Santillo. Agnes will live in our hearts forever.
The visiting hours will be on Monday, April 19th from 10:00 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Roseanne, Mike & Family: We were all so saddened to hear of Aggie’s passing. We have so many great memories of her conversations with all of us for the many years as next door neighbors. We loved her spitfire, spunky personality – always telling it like it was. I know my mom is at a loss right now- they were “girlfriends” – they shared many good times by the fence and talking on the phone for hours. I am sure my dad is welcoming her into heaven yelling her name as he used to — “Aggie”. My sincere condolences. Laurie Severino
Rosanne, Mike and Family and Albert Jr and Family:
Dear Aunt Aggie, may you find comfort and rest with your beloved family in Heaven. You worked so hard your whole life, always loving and taking care of all of us and always putting family first.
I will miss our talks, your smile, laughter and always being straightforward and honest with us. In the past nine years, you have been “My Mom” when my mom pasted and I cherished those calls or visits we shared.
Uncle Milo sent my mom a note one time and he sent it to me as well.
IT READS: ”
“Sis, Mom must be looking down from heaven and is real proud of her children, because she used to recite from an old Italian proverb-“The Family is the most beautiful relationship in Life”. (La Famiglia) For despite all the separations, orphanages, County Homes, Convents and foster homes–her children have aways tried to preserve the family with their love and respect for each other. Love ya Sis”
Love you Aunt Aggie, to a life well lived, you will be loved and missed beyond words.
Love RoseMarie, Gene and Family
