Karen & Allison – My thoughts and prayers are with both of you at this difficult time. The many years I worked at N.B.H.S. every time Alan would come into the office or see him in the hallways, he would always stop and talk and so interested in whatever was happening. After I retired and my grandchildren who are attending N.B.Intermediate and would see Alan at different functions, always stop and talk. He certainly will be greatly missed.

I would sometimes fill in as a Secretary when a position was vacant and Alan was always so personable and kind to me – You also would come into the office and stop and chat with me.

Both my daughters, Michele and Kristen, had Alan for their teacher and they would always relate the fact that they were in his Talent Shows where he made every student feel like they were performing on “Broadway” — he left them with happy and great memories.

Karen and Ali,
We are all so saddened by the lost of Alan. He was such a wonderful, kind hearted man with always a smile on his face. Heaven has gained another Angel! Our prayers and condolences to you and your family. Xo
Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Davis’ family. I also had Mr Davis at NIS and NBHS. He made Math fun, therefore easier to those of us that struggled. We enjoyed “The Stock Market Game” and the times we went skiing. We enjoyed his silly stories, his work at the NIS bookstore( lots of buttons)his work on the HS yearbook, and so much more. May God Bless his family with rich memories of greater times and his contagious smile.
Mr. Davis was one of my favorite teachers in NB… I will never forget his patience while tutoring me in math! He always had a smile on his face, and his enthusiasm and charisma was infectious. I have the fondest of memories of him and will always think of him with a smile.
I had Mr. Davis for math courses in intermediate school and again 2x in high school. There are certain lessons that made such an impact that I remember them to this day. I will never forget Mr. Davis. My prayers go out to his family.
Mr. Davis was an inspiration. As my geometry teacher he challenged me to think outside the box (pun intended as he was always so witty). He was my favorite teacher in High School, and his class helped me not only learn math, but how to be an effective teacher. His attitude, energy, and love for teaching and students is a legacy. He was a blessing to so many, and my prayers are with his family.
Alan and I started working together at North Branford Intermediate School and then moved on to NBHS together. In addition to his field of Math education , Alan, as a former musician himself, had a great understanding of the importance of music and the arts in education. When he became an administrator in the North Branford school system he did all he could to help accommodate and promote the program and I will always be indebted to him for that. Alan always kept every student’s need in mind and I admire him greatly for that.
I send my prayers and deepest condolences to Karen, Alison and the entire Davis family.
Fondly remembered by all who’ve entered the doors at NBHS & NBIS. Condolences to the family.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Davis family. Mr. Davis will always be remembered and appreciated for the support and encouragement he provided to so many classmates. Forever missed.
Mr Davis was one of my favorite math teachers in NB. I greatly enjoyed his math class in the HS and loved his theorems in class. He always made class fun for everyone. The year I was taking his class, he had starting dating Miss O’Hare, whom was my teacher in the 6th grade at NBIS and was also a favorite of mine. It was so cool that 2 of my favorites had found each other in their personal life through their professional life. Both are great educators and this saddens me to hear that we have lost one of the greats. I am confident his impact on each and every student lives on. I know I learned a lot in his class as well as his wife’s and I am grateful to have been taught by these wonderful educators. Mr Davis your legacy will always live on and we will never forget you. My condolences to your family, especially your wife whom I’ve loved since I was 11 years old in the 6th grade. God bless them and heaven has gained a true angel. Sorry for your family’s loss.
Truly a blessing on the North Branford School System. May he live on in the lives of those whom he inspired.
Eternal Rest, grant him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace through the mercy of God.
I only knew him for a year but he left his mark on me. Great sense of humor and really cared about the children at NBIS. I am glad they created the Davis Way in his memory. My condolences to his family.
It’s long after his passing and decades since Mr. Davis was my teacher but he truly was my guiding light in middle school. I moved from the Midwest and was an outsider everywhere but his classroom. His model of warmth and students first is how I built and have run my own classrooms for the past 27 years. Everyone knows there is a special place in heaven for teachers, especially middle school teachers. There is an extra special place for Mr. Davis.
