Alfred Paul Brasile, 66, passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Raccio Brasile. Al was born on April 28, 1956 at Grace (Yale) New Haven Hospital. He and Patty were soulmates, they were born just five days apart. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Mary Lepri Brasile. He was also predeceased by his beloved big sister “Little” Mary Margaret. Al was a caring, giving, loving dad to his three children, Gerald (Kate), Nichollas (Samantha), Kayla (Alec) and two step-daughters Melissa and Stacey (John). Al as Poppy had a very special love for his granddaughters, Lana, Kaylee, Juliet, Lillian, Madelyn and his great granddaughter, Leilani. He just loved to bite their “piggies”. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Brandi, a niece, nephew, a great niece, a great nephew and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Al worked at Metro North Railroad since 1974 until his retirement in 2012. He made many “pals” while working along the tracks and that bond will be forever unbroken. For many years, Al had a mobile lawn mower repair service where he made numerous connections with people who respected and depended on him. He never said “no” and always gave his customers great service. Al was always available for any request and never asked anything in return. Known and loved by many as “Fonz” “My Pal” “OhAl”. While growing up in North Haven, Al’s connection to his family and cousins was extremely strong. Al played in the band. Copyright with his cousins and best friends and later in life reunited with the band members as the Stackcats. There was always a party in his life. Along with his wife Patty, they celebrated family holidays with good unending food and of course karaoke! He enjoyed pool parties, snow mobiles, jet skis, antique cars, riding on his Harley and traveling with his wife in the RV. Al and Patty’s retirement enabled them to become “snowbirds” in Florida. The many Disney vacations with their kids and grandkids, multiple cruises, being able to ride the Harley in winter, enjoying new friends and the massive flea markets brought him joy and fulfillment. Al certainly enjoyed the ”haggle” at the flea markets. He was the man who would get you down to $5 from $10 and pay with a $20 bill. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Shands and Haven Hospice. Also to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg, FL for all the spiritual support these past few months
The visiting hours will on Monday morning, May 23rd from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Haven Hospice Foundation (www.BeYourHaven.org) or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org)

My cousin, my pal, my mentor, my best friend. No words can ever express the loss I feel nor the hole you have left in my heart. I still reach for the phone to share things with you, this just isn’t the way it was supposed to be. This is a void that no one can fill, I’ve lost my “big brother”. Till our souls meet again, please save me a spot right next to you, I love you bro.
Patty,
Al will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. He was quite the guy and I’m glad I got to make his acquaintance and had the privilege to care for him over the years. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him

Who takes their landlord our for drinks? Al-that is who! Patty and Al rented a garage from me when they moved to Florida. We happened to be talking one day and said we were headed down to Florida. “we must go out for drinks and dinner!” said Al. And so we did. We had a great evening. I can see why such a gregarious, outgoing, life-of-the-party man has left such a huge imprint in the hearts of everyone he has met. I love that Patty and Al found each other and were soulmates. Patty-I am sorry for your huge loss. Give yourself time to grieve. All the fabulous memories will have you smiling again soon.
Al, we had many good times years ago. I will always remember them. I hope to have more with you in the next life.
