Alfredo DiPaola, 69, of Northford passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 with his family by his side; the day after his 42nd wedding anniversary to his beloved wife Pasqualina “Patty” Petrillo DiPaola. Alfredo was born in Faicchio, Provence of Benevento Italy on November 4, 1947; son of the late Federico and Angelina Sorbo DiPaola. He had worked all his life as a sheetrocker and taper for many local painters’ unions. Alfredo was a life member of the New Haven Raccoon Club; a real outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, gardening, making his own wine, but most of all he loved gathering with family and friends around the pizza oven in his backyard. Father of Federico “Freddie” DiPaola and Angela DiPaola. Brother of Antoinette (Guy) Cardella. Brother-in-law of Rita (Vinnie) Bernardo. Uncle of Nella (Mark) Zydanowicz, Angela (John) Green, Joseph (Rosalia) Cardella, Michael and Amato Bernardo. Also survived by great-nieces and a great-nephew.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
