Angelina Grace Landino (95) passed away in her home in South Windsor, CT on January 22, surrounded by family and loved ones.  Angelina was known by many names to many different people throughout her long life. “Angie” was born to Guiseppe and Marion (Aceto) Pesce in East Haven, CT in 1928, the youngest of seven siblings.  She is pre-deceased by five sisters, Vivian Bruno, Jean Piscitelli, Rose Carbo, Lena Esposito, and Josie Ardito and one brother, Anthony “Fish” Pesce.

She graduated from East Haven High School in 1946 where she was a member of the glee club and dreamed of becoming a seamstress.  She was the rebel in her large family, where she was known to sneak out of the house to go dancing with her friends and she was one of only two sisters to drive.  After graduation, she went on to work in the bookkeeping department of Sargent Manufacturing in New Haven, CT.

“Ann” was introduced to her future husband Lou Landino by his sister and Ann’s co-worker, Sylvia Landino when she sold him her car. They married in 1956 and built a beautiful family and marriage that lasted until Lou’s passing in 2004.  “Ann” became “Mom” with the birth of their first child, Michael Landino of Meriden, followed by David Landino (Teresa) of South Windsor and Diane Landino of San Francisco.  She was a proud stay-at-home mom and devoted all of her time to raising her three children.  She was well-known for her generous spirit and stellar baking ability. In fact, people still ask for her anginette and cream cheese brownie recipes to this day.

Her most cherished role was that of “Gram” or “Noni” to her four grandchildren: Julie, Ricky (Katie), Lauren, and Kyon.  She adored spending time with them and bragging about their many accomplishments. In her later years, she derived much joy from the family pets; dogs, cats and guinea pigs alike.  In addition to her children and grandchildren, “Aunt Angie” will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The visiting hours will be Monday morning, Jan. 29th from 9:30 to 11:00 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue followed by a catholic parlor service at 11:00.  Angelina loved flowers and also supported the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. www.northhavenfuneral.com
