Angelina Gambardella Maluchnik Maluk, 95, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John Maluchnik. Angelina was born in New Haven on February 22, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Virginia Carotenuto Gambardella. She had worked at Seamless Rubber Company in New Haven and later at Sargent for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the East Haven Senior Center and a devoted member of St. Michael Church, New Haven. Angelina enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun where she would play the slot machines and loved spending time with her family who she loved unconditionally. She was an incredible baker and loved baking cookies, especially Christmas cookies. Mother of Elaine (Anthony) Onofrio and Diana (Thomas Jr.) Murray. Grandmother of Krista and Alison (Steven Poleshek) Onofrio, Thomas (HuiHui Dong) Murray III and Justine Murray. Sister of Salvatore Gambardella and the late Fannie “Honey” Bonanno, Ralph, Frank, Andrew, and Anthony Gambardella. Also survived by many nieces and nephews that meant a lot to her.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 2nd from 4 to 7 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven on Wednesday morning January 3rd at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
