Anita G. Vegliante Pisano, 81, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent “Chick” Pisano. Anita was born in Hartford on August 13, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Messina Vegliante. A hairdresser by trade, but being a devoted wife and homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was most important. She loved her family unconditionally and was a caregiver to all. Anita was the life of every party, lighting up the room with her smile. The quintessential “Italian mother” who took pride in making her home and every meal beautiful, feeding anyone who walked through the door. Anita had a passion for cooking, whether frying meatballs for Sunday sauce or making trays of lasagna or apizzagaina, and baking Easter pies and Christmas cookies. She had a green thumb, turning every planter or plot of soil into a magic garden filled with love. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and home decorating. Over the last few years, Anita cultivated many new friendships at the Clelian Center in Hamden.
Mother of Maria Piasecki (Michael), John A. Pisano II (Michelle) and Graceann A. Pisano. Grandmother of Giovanna Piasecki, Angelica Demers (Bryan), Michael Piasecki (Jessica), Francesca Pisano, Nicholas Piasecki and John A. Pisano III. Great grandmother of Dominic, Isabella, and Enzo. She also left behind her beloved grandog, Archie, who adored her.
The visiting hours will be Friday morning, Oct. 6th from 8:30 to 10:15 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church/St. Paul VI Parish, Hamden at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489

I’m so grateful you got to speak to her. She loved you so much, Dolores.
Graceann I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. Your unconditional love for her was so obvious and so beautiful. She was an amazing woman, and you were an amazing daughter to her during her most important years of need. You set aside your own personal life to make sure she had the best of care and was surrounded by your constant love and companionship. You gave her joy and I know for certain that her life was much better for having you in it. Saying goodby to her is heart breaking but she would want you to remember all the good times. ….And she would want you to know that she is at peace and can rest now. Celebrate a life well lived and a woman who was well loved!
Thank you so much for the very kind words, Deb.
