Anna Diana Longley, 87, was born in New Haven, CT and was raised in West Haven, CT.    Anna graduated from West Haven High school and received her Register of Nursing (RN) degree from the Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing. After marrying, Anna moved to New Haven, CT where she reared her five children and later moved to North Haven, CT.  Anna had a career of 58 years in nursing services with many facets of nursing including working with skilled and intermediate nursing homes, specializing in serving the elderly and psychiatric patients.  Anna had worked at the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital, and facilities such as Whitney Manor, Clintonville Manor, Montowese HealthCare, and just prior to retirement at age 78, Anna had worked at Lee Way Incorporated serving persons with terminal illnesses.  Anna practiced the Catholic faith and had been a member of St. Francis Church of New Haven and St. Barnabas Church here in North Haven, CT.  In Anna’s spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Anna enjoyed going out to eat especially for lobster, playing bingo, traveling, and trips to the casino.  Loving mother of Jerard (Veronica) Kearney, James Kearney, John (Alix) Kearney, Patrick (Genevieve) Kearney and Margaret (Frank) Kearney Barretta.  Beloved grandmother of Christopher, Christina, Crystal, Guadalupe, Georgia, Gwendlyn, James, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Michael, Christian, Brandon, Dominick, and Christianna.  Also survived by many great-grandchildren.    

The visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 2nd at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 4 to 7 PM.  A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
