Anna Spadoni Lesniak of North Haven passed away peacefully on April 3, 2021 at the age of 96. Anna worked for many years in Manuscripts and Archives at Yale University’s Sterling Memorial Library. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caring friend to many. Anna’s love will live on in her family’s hearts and warm memories. Anna leaves behind a loving family: daughters Linda Bell and Joan Chiari, son-in-law Thomas Chiari, grandchildren Tanya Chiari, Thomas John Chiari and Ashley Chiari, great-granddaughter Emma June Chiari, and sister Dorothy Gabrielian, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Lesniak and son Lucian Lesniak. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery.
Auntie Anna was my dearest and most favored Aunt. I remember fond holidays switching between our Polish & Italian cultural practices. She always had a smile, offered wonderful stories of her coming into the Lesniak family with Uncle Gene’s sisters, Marion & Lorie. She will forever be my guiding light after my parents passed- my confidant and my “Yoda” and final Matriarch in my family tree.
I will miss her 😓
Go in peace- Be with those you love & watch from afar as we work in your spirit to honor those of your generation…
Dear Linda and Joan,
It was with sadness that I read this morning of Anna’s passing. She and I worked together in Manuscripts and Archives for many years. Anna was a great colleague and I fondly remember our time together. We had a lot of laughs! My heartfelt condolences to you and your families.
I am so very sorry Joan and Tommy
