Anna Marinella LaVorgno, 98, of Wallingford, formerly of Hamden passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony LaVorgno. Anna was born in New Haven on February 13, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Adolf and Palmina Scarpetti Marinella. She had worked as a cashier for the former Co-Op Market of Hamden for 20 years until her retirement. Anna was devoted to her religion and to her church. Mother of Pamela Cunningham, Marie LaVorgno and the late Philip LaVorgno. Grandmother of Jacquelyn Kristant, Stephanie DiBiaggio and Rachel Cunningham. Great-Grandmother of Nicholas DiBiaggio, Jacob and Landon Pelchat. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Fitzpatrick, Louise Lungrini and brothers Oswald and Dino Marinella.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning, Feb. 24th from 8:30 to 9:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave at 9:30 to Devine Mercy Parish at St. Rita Church, Hamden for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. (Masks and social distancing required for all services).
