Anna Minaudo Grillo, 78, of East Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Andy Grillo. Anna was born in Trapani, Sicily on May 4, 1938; daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca Genna Minaudo; had worked as a seamstress at Gants Shirt Company in New Haven for many years, taught cosmetology at Elm City Beauty Academy and later was a Loan Officer at New Haven Savings Bank for 14 years until her retirement. Anna enjoyed nothing more than hosting family and friends in her home, whether it was a holiday, birthday or any occasion to gather around the table with the people she loved. She never complained but often referred to her three season porch as Grand Central Station, the way people filtered in and out and she wouldn’t want it any other way. Mother of Lisa (Rich) Simmons, Toni (Gary) Fermo and Fran (Charlie) Ferraiolo. Grandmother of Ashley Simmons, Carrie (Mike) Weiner, Andrew & Matthew Fermo, Jake & Jenna Ferraiolo. Great Grandmother of Cameron Weiner. Sister of Joseph Minaudo and Catherine DeMartino. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Whitaker and staff at the hospital for special care in New Britain and the staff at Connecticut Hospice, Branford especially Dianne, Wilma and Barbara for all their special care.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven for a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 11:00 am and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS Foundation, c/o Kim Buda, 4 Oxford Rd. Unit E4 Milford, CT 06460 or online at www.alsact.org . The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
May you rest in peace, keep a watchful eye on your family and friends from above. Prayers for you and your family.

I am very sorry for your loss. It’s always sad when we lose a loved one. Even though she’s not earth she will always be with you. She wipe your tears, she brush past you. You will even smell her favorite perfume or cologne and there is no one else in the room. She will be at the right hand of GOD.
There is no greater loss than the loss of a loved one so close and dear. Losing a mom is not easy because she is the one we bond with first when we are presented into this world. But we must not forget the love she taught us about God because without him we will never remember how to heal and love again. Your mothers presence will always be with you and gods peace will always surround you.
So very sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family at this sad and hardest time. Your mom was a great woman and the kindest.
