Anna Nuzzo Miranda, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Mary Wade Home, New Haven with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo J. Miranda. Anna was born in New Haven on February 24, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Philomena DeAngelo Nuzzo. She had worked for the former Sunbeam & Mode Manufacturing and the former Robbie Len Swimwear of New Haven. Anna was a “Grandma” to all and was devoted to her family whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Marianne Miranda and Joseph (Kathy) Miranda. Grandmother of Jeffrey and Justin Miranda, and Nicole (Michael) Fletcher. Great-Grandmother of Michael Fletcher, Jr., AnnaShea and Meadow Fletcher. Also survived by her faithful companion, her dog Abby. Predeceased by her sisters, Mary Vannicola, Santa DiChello, Constance Imperati, Rose Paturzo and a brother Dominic Nuzzo, Jr. The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to Anna’s niece Phyllis Caliendo who was always there for her and to the nurses and staff at the Mary Wade Home for the excellent care and comfort they provided to Anna during her brief stay.
Her funeral procession wlll leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “A Meal with Meadow” which is a benefit dinner for Anna’s Great-Granddaughter c/o Joseph & Kathy Miranda, 103 Knob Hill Road, Meriden, CT 06451
