Anne Cretella Cusano, 93, of East Haven passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford.  She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Cusano, Sr.  Anne was born in New Haven on January 6th, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Matteo and Rose Carboni Cretella. She was a graduate of the former Commercial High School, New Haven and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Arnold College in 1952.  Anne was a teacher for the Naugatuck School System from 1952 to 1956, Michael Whalen Middle School from 1956 to 1963. She later taught at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Bernadette, St. Michael, St. Stanislaus and St. Brendan’s Parochial Schools, and the Branford School System for 13 years.   Anne also worked as a receptionist at St. Raphael’s Hospital. She leaves behind her loving children Richard Cusano, Rose Cusano, John A. Cusano (Kristin) and the “Love of her Life” Colby Ryan Cusano.  Also survived by cherished nieces and nephews, Donna, Roberta, Joseph, and Peter who were like her own children. Predeceased by her twin sister Marie (Joseph) Santino and brothers Matteo, Salvatore and Andrew N. Carrano.

The visiting hours will be Sunday, June 4th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, June 5th at 10:00 in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
