Anne M. Naclerio Potenziani, 92, of Hamden passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold J. Potenziani, Sr. Anne was born in New Haven on January 2, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Teresa Apuzzo Naclerio. A graduate of the former Commercial High School, Anne was the secretary of Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University for many years until her retirement. A devoted parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, New Haven, Anne was their former secretary and served as a Eucharistic Minister. In 2013, St. Michael’s Church honored her as “Mother of the Year”. Anne enjoyed shopping, was a member of the Hamden Women’s Club, but most of all Anne was very proud of and enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. Mother of Margaret Colantonio (Joseph), Harold J. Potenziani, Jr. and Annette Crowley (Jay). Grandmother of Erika Stratton (Kevin), Bethany Potenziani (Scott Wescott), Rachel Potenziani (Nate Madsen), Michael and Andrew Colantonio, Olivia Crowley. Great-Grandmother of Sofia, Rylie, Teagan, Scotty. Predeceased by her brothers Louis, James, George and Joseph Naclerio, and sisters Trifie Carlucci, Lucy Pratesi, Ida Riccio, Clara Hunter and Viola Connor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Thursday morning, July 7th from 9:30 to 11:15 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, New Haven at 12 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
Dear Friend: I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved mother. I remember all the times you shared with me of fond memories of enjoying being with your mother. You were a wonderful daughter. May her memory be a blessing and she RIP.
