Annemarie DeRienzo

Annemarie Heim DeRienzo, 87, of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6^th, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Joseph DeRienzo.  Annemarie was born in Silesia, Prussia on January 20^th, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Josef and Hedwig Grundmann Heim.  She worked for Stop & Shop in Branford for many years and later in the cafeteria at Guilford High School until her retirement.  Annemarie was a member of the Guilford Senior Center.  She had a passion for working in her garden and enjoyed taking walks and hiking with the “Huff-n-Puff” girls as she would jokingly say.  Mother to her loving daughters and their husbands Maryanna (Edward) Bouffard and Jackie (Franz) Folz. Devoted grandmother to Franz (Daryl) Folz, Joseph (Tara) Folz and Rebecca (Patrick) Nestor. Also survived by her little angels, great-grandchildren Liam, Amelia, Noah and Miles; and her brothers Eduard and Arnold Heim. Predeceased by her sister Barbara Heim.  Annemarie leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

The visiting hours will be Sunday, Dec. 10^th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday  morning December 11th at 10:00. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford at 10:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
