Anthony “Burpsy” Notarino Jr of North Haven passed away on January 20, 2023, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a long illness. Born March 6th, 1937, in New Haven to the late Anthony “Shortie “and Adeline “Lil “Toscano Notarino Sr. Survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Ann Consiglio Notarino  Anthony was employed by the City of New Haven and the New Haven Register for many years until his retirement. Anthony was well known in New Haven for his passion of hunting mushroom, he would live for his time in the woods but most of all what gave him the greatest pleasure was to share the find with his friends. He was very avid in keeping tradition alive such as pickling and making wine, most of all cooking he loved to cook, and many would come to his home to learn the secrets or sit down and enjoy with him. Anthony loved his music, he was a big fan of Doo-Wop, John Fogerty, John Denver and Alabama who he seen last year at Foxwoods (He insisted the concert was for him) maybe it was? Anthony was a member of the Santa Maria Maddalena Society and the former Pietro Badoglio Social Club. Beloved Father of Anthony Notarino III, Andrew (Sally) Notarino and Lisa (Joseph) O’Connor Beloved Poppy of Gabriella, Alessandra and Pasquale D’Angelo and Elisa O’Connor and Family pets Babe and Pio. Also survived by his siblings Peter ( Delores ) Notarino,  Louis ( Ann ) Notarino and Lucille (Benito) Denicola  and many Nieces, Nephews , Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, Godson Angelo Vessichio and Dear Friend Lois Britton.

The visiting hours will be Sunday, Jan. 22nd from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family
