Anthony John Glasso Jr., 54, of Hamden, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in New Haven on January 2, 1966. He was the son of Diane Church, the late Anthony Glasso Sr. and cared for by his loving stepfather David Church. He was the grandson of William and Dorothy Lavelle. Anthony unconditionally loved his mom, his late sister Dawn Glasso Lopez who he called his “easter” and his brother-in-law Maximo Lopez. He was a half-brother to Catherine Gookin and Jennifer Glasso. His aunt Louise Bloom and a host of cousins mourn his loss.

Anthony was a graduate from ACES School and part of the ARC workshop program in Hamden. Since the day Anthony was born, he was a gift from God’s heart, bringing great joy to his family. He faced many challenges in his lifetime but was always happy with a good laugh, a donut and a bag of potato chips. Anthony absolutely loved Fred Flintstone, and he watched the cartoons daily. Throughout his life, Anthony was surrounded by good friends, in particular the late Rosie Ferraro, who was his dear friend. He was cared for by hundreds of care givers through his life from the Department of Developmental Services and in the private group homes in which he lived.

Anthony also leaves behind many close friends and family including the Churchs, Patricia Giuliano and her family, the Maddaloni family, Elaine Phluger, the Nelson family, Marilyn Wenzel and the Forrester family. Diane Church extends a special thank you to everyone that was part of Anthony’s life and the MICU at Yale for all their care and compassion.

A celebration of Anthony’s life will take place at a later date.
