Anthony S. Leonardi, 79, of North Haven and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his home in Florida with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Dorothy J. Leonardi. Anthony was born in New Haven on June 18, 1942, and was the son of the late Peter and Rose Leonardi. He served his country faithfully in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. Anthony had worked as a Mail Handler for the U.S. Postal Service for many years until his retirement. Father to the late daughter Paula Jean Leonardi and survived by his sons Anthony D. Leonardi and wife Karyn, Peter J. Leonardi and wife Maria. He was also Grandfather of Belle, Betsy, Dommarie, Luis and Brother of Carl Leonardi and wife Nancy.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 26th at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 4 to 6 PM. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday morning, Jan 27th at 11:30. Interment with full military honors will follow in Center Cemetery, Elm Street, North Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 450 George Street, New Haven, CT 06511.
