Anthony Sommo, 90, of Daytona, FL, formerly of North Haven for many years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL.  He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Lucy LaVorgna Sommo.  Anthony was born in New Haven on November 18, 1930 and was the son of the late Charles and Louise Messina Sommo.  He served his country faithfully for 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean war.  Anthony worked for the US Postal Service for 32 years retiring as a Letter Carrier and later worked for the Wallingford School System for 15 years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Father of Ann Cillo, Louise Mathog and Caroline (John) Kronkiatis.  Grandfather of Antonio (Melissa) Cillo, Sr., Amber Cillo, April Korbin, Iris (Travis) Cummingham, Lucia (Eddie Perez) Bergeron, Chelsey (Sadik) Hadzovic, Justin (Kristen) Pethick, Joshua Pethick, and Katie (Bruno) Ciccone.  Brother of Charles Sommo, Theresa Cimino and the late Robert and Louis Sommo.  Brother-in-law of Elizabeth and Margaret Sommo.  Also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Predeceased by his son-in-law Anthony Cillo.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday afternoon, April 29th at 12:00 in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven.  Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, Universal Drive, Daytona Beach, FL 32118.
