Antoinette “Dolly” Proto DeRienzo, 83, of Wallingford, formerly of Hemingway Avenue, East Haven for many years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Regency House, Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late Ralph DeRienzo. Dolly was born in New Haven on August 5, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Michele and Assunta Proto. She had worked in the fish department at Stop & Shop, East Haven until her retirement. Dolly was a member of the East Haven Democratic Town Committee and had worked the election polls. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Regan Council Columbiettes, was a member of the former Double Beach Club of Branford and loved being on the beach. Mother of Michelle Page and her husband Thomas. Grandmother of Michael and Kristin Page.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 10:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent De Paul’s Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Michelle I am very sorry to be reading about your mom’s passing…..there is nothing like a mom’s passing.
She will be greatly missed she was a wonderful neighbor and an even better friend. She is with Ralph which is all she wanted, to be reunited with him.

I am so sorry to hear about Dolly’s passing. She was the best of the best and will be greatly missed. She was a lot of fun, always laughing and cracking jokes – there are so many good memories, especially of the infamous kyock knockers club – so many laughs. Rest in peace Dolly. xo
